MAY 2002 NEWSLETTER

FROM THE WAGON MASTERS DESK!

Well, the first camp out is under our belt. Can’t say it was a good one. Rained all day Saturday. We always survive, no mater what the weather is and we make the best of it. On the good side, we saw all our friends again and some new members. 17 units showed up. GREAT. Don’t forget the rally in July. We need all the members we can get to attend. We are hosting this one and we have to make a good showing. Food for the pot luck was excellent as always and the camp ground put out a very good breakfast. Can’t beat it for 4 bucks. See you all at the June Campout. [ Thank You Kelly for the dinner date]

MAY CAMPOUT

Our May campout was a success despite the weather. We did manage to get in our evening fires. Most of us were able to check if our air conditioners and furnaces were in working order in one day. Just what did the men do while the women were out shopping at the “Gigglin’ Pig”? As Norm said, it was great to see 3 new members and their guests. I hope they enjoyed the weekend as much as we enjoyed their being there. The meeting was short this year and there wasn’t too much new business. We will be listing your cell phone number on our membership list. If you wish to have your number listed call Camille at 675-6341 or e-mail me at cmp2248@netzero.com.

JUNE CAMPOUT

Our June campout will be held on June 11-13 at Hidden Valley campground. Please call Dennis and Dawn Pickard at 913-8639 by June 1st to let them know you are coming to the campout. The fee will be $20.60 for electric and water. The campground is requiring a one night unrefundable deposit. Please send a check to Hidden Valley, 299 Kiantone Road, Jamestown, NY 14701. Directions to Hidden Valley are: Hidden Valley is 9.1 miles from route17. Take the thruway to the Fredonia exit to 60S to route 62S. Turn right on Riverside Drive. Turn left on 49S. HV is almost an immediate right. They are completing the installation of 50 amp electricity in the circle. They are hoping it will be complete by Memorial Day.

RALLY 2004

If you have not sent in your reservations to Ray Schmidt and your deposit to Hidden Valley please do so immediately. Hidden Valley has requested that we do so because they will be having another group in the campground and they need our unused sites. They need this information asap. Your reservations were supposed to be in by May 1st. Please call Helen at 652-5660 if you would like to donate a basket for the fund raiser. You do not have to call if you signed up on the sheet at the meeting.
